Hope it's a good one!

(and nothing helps disguise a shameful hangover like a nice, perky bright dress- this one should do quite nicely!)

Studs & Lace Nails!

by Shona Wallace @SWfashion_

At Studs&Lace, we know that carrying off a vintage look is all about personal style, and the ways that you make the look your own. A great way to make a look unique is through little details that can make or break a nice outfit.

A beautiful 60s shift is never going to look good with straggly hair, and a 70s maxi would just look daft with chipped nails, so why forget about the little details this Christmas? Heck- why not embrace beauty trends and make your nails a fashion feature in themselves!

In keeping with the Studs&Lace theme, the latest nail art craze- like those covetable, but pernickety WAH nails- is lacy nails and they are not as fiddly as they sound- trust me!

1. Take a stretch of pretty black lace and cut out pieces to fit each nail.

2. Paint your nails a base colour of your choosing- the most simple and stylish is a blush/nude tone, but it can look pretty with a bold colour as well. If you really want to channel a Studs & Lace look, opt for a duck-egg blue base and top with black lace. Models Own 'Bloo Boo' is a great pastel blue. Gorgeous!

3. While the nail polish is still wet, carefully apply each individual piece of lace.

4. Wait for the polish to dry and apply a clear top coat over the lace.

Easy peasy, and certain to give everyone nail envy!

The Winter Essential!

by Shona Wallace @SWfashion_
1940s Coney Fur Coat £95, Studs & Lace

Sometimes we all need a little bit of luxury, and nothing is quite so satisfying as a sumptuous fur jacket. This Studs & Lace offering is the be all and end all as far as i'm concerned! A genuine 1940s piece, the warm ginger shade is more than a little bit festive, and the typically 1940s boxy shape makes for a wearable and flattering piece.

It may be a bit of an indulgence, but a fur coat is an essential wardrobe piece for any stylish lady. Sling yours over a prim blouse like Georgia May Jagger or use as the perfect glam-grunge cover-up like Carine Roitfeld.

How you could resist, I do not know!

Have Yourself a Kooky Little Christmas

by Shona Wallace @SWfashion_
I have a massive girl-crush on Zooey Deschanel, and watching '500 Days of Summer' recently just confirmed how much I want to look like her/dress like her/ be her.

I then ventured out and bought the 'A Very She & Him Christmas' and now I want to sing like Zooey too. Her lovely voice singing 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas' is giving Bublé a run for his money in the Christmas song stakes- it's nice and Christmassy without being cheesy or sickly.

So let's all dress up in Zooey's quirky retro style and have ourselves a kooky little Christmas.

Yes, you DO need another coat!

by Shona Wallace @SWfashion_
If you take a look in my wardrobe at the moment, it is pretty much 90% bulky coats/jackets/coatigans.

My delicate party dresses are savagely pushed between my chunky vintage cardis, my massive grey fur coat, a leopard fur chubby, a flimsy ivory capelet, a leather jacket, a wooly maroon coat and a creamy duffel jacket. I think you can guess that I feel the cold these days!

However, I still can't stop myself obsessing over some of the gorgeous coats that are around at the moment. Be it a muted mustard version of my wooly coat, a tartan Whistles capelet or a delightful vintage fur number, I can't stop thinking about coats! At least they are practical?

So instead of buying another potential Christmas party dress to add to your extensive collection, buy another coat instead! It's a little daytime luxury that we all deserve and this Studs & Lace 1970s one ticks all my boxes this season.

Firstly we've got the delicious tobacco suede, which is the perfect shade to pair with denim, then we've got the demure mid length which keeps it nice and toasty. The colour will warm up your skin tone, and it is all beautifully finished off with lashings of chocolate fur.

This luxurious and infinitely glamourous vintage coat is a fabulous price at just £60, so you can treat yourself without feeling any guilt whatsoever! Or you could treat me?... Thanks!

Christmas Cracker!

by Shona Wallace @SWfashion_

If you are sick of being a wallflower in your faithful LBD over the party season, look no further than this delightful pleated fuschia dress for a party update.

The bright colour will pep up a tired skintone and will immediately ensure all eyes are on you. As seen on the various pictured style icons, hot pink needn't be Barbie-esque and can be a very stylish colour indeed- while still maintaining a little bit of flirty fun.

The pleats keep it feminine and the nipped-in shape will flatter everyone! The midi length ticks lots of trend boxes as well.

Dress it up or dress it down, but for a cracking Christmas party look just pair with spangly accessories and prepare to be bombarded with mistletoe requests!

Lacy Loving

by Shona Wallace @SWfashion_

So this is how it goes: you shop, shop, shop all December searching for those special presents for all those special people. You'll spend, spend, spend but never on yourself!
At Studs & Lace, we reckon a healthy December should be spent shopping for presents, coming home, sipping on a little hot chocolate and treating yourself to a little online luxury. What better than this fabulous collar?!
We all know that collar's are the 'it' piece this season to add a kooky touch to your favourite blouse or t-shirt. This one would look gorgeous slung over a plain white t-shirt, velvety shorts and sparkly heels for a glamourous, but understated Christmas party look that will have all fellow party goers ooh-ing and aah-ing.
For just £10.50, you can afford not to feel self-indulgent or guilty! Go on: you know you want to...
